Every win inches the Spartans closer to a showdown for the regular-season crown with rival Michigan, which they have not yet played. The Wolverines are a half-game ahead of MSU atop the conference standings, and their two critical games come up Feb. 24 in Ann Arbor and March 9 in East Lansing.
