Report: Ohio State assistant Jeff Hafley turned down NFL chance

Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley isn’t leaving Columbus anytime soon. Hafley reportedly turned down a recent interview opportunity with the Cincinnati Bengals to fill a role on their staff, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Hafley landed with the Buckeyes in January as one of head coach Ryan Day’s essential offseason hires. “The Bengals wanted to interview Ohio State defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their vacant DC job, sources tell Ian Rappoport. However, I’m told he’s not going to renege on his commitment to OSU after taking the job last month. So Cincy’s search continues,” NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo tweeted on Friday.
