COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State head coach Ryan Day made one change to the Buckeyes offensive coaching staff when he was hired. He replaced himself by hiring Mike Yurcich as the passing game coordinator and quarterback’s coach. Yurcich — a Euclid native — came with the reputation of coaching record-breaking offenses at Oklahoma State. Day combined that with bringing in former five-star quarterback Justin Fields as a transfer to go with Matthew Baldwin who spent 2018 recovering from a knee injury. The quarterback room will have plenty of talent to work with heading into spring practice, but absolutely none of them will know what they’re doing. Fields has 12 games worth of college football experience and he spent them as a backup quarterback at Georgia.
