Justin-credible; Ahrens breaks out for Buckeyes at right time

On Saturday afternoon, Ohio State freshman Justin Ahrens scored a career-high nine points on three-of-five shooting, with all of his attempts coming from three-point range. The Buckeyes lost the game 72-62. After the contest, Terrapins coach Mark Turgeon referred to Ahrens as “that one kid” who made shots.No one outside of the Scarlet and Gray knew who Ahrens was. They do now. In Tuesday night’s 90-70 victory over No. 22 Iowa, Ahrens exploded for 29 points, 25 of which came in the second half. Prior to the game against the Hawkeyes, Ahrens had just 38 combined points in his collegiate career. “I really haven’t played all year so they probably didn’t have the scouting report,” the freshman said after the game.
