Ohio State basketball found shooting in Justin Ahrens and it led to a vital victory

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Justin Ahrens didn’t get much playing time in the first three months of the regular season. Coming into Tuesday night he’d played a total of 136 minutes and had only played more than 20 minutes once. When head coach Chris Holtmann decided to start him in the second half of Ohio State’s home win over Northwestern, he did so as a reward for a player who’d remained positive despite the lack of personal gain. He’d get his first start against Maryland and responded with nine points on three-of-five shooting from three.
