Ohio State suspends Kaleb Wesson, leading scorer and rebounder

Ohio State just lost a critical piece of its basketball program. Sophomore center Kaleb Wesson, the Buckeyes’ leading scorer and rebounder, has been suspended for violating an athletic department policy, coach Chris Holtmann announced Friday, according to multiple media reports. He is expected to return this season. The second-year standout had 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 90-70 victory over No. 22 Iowa on Tuesday. Looking to cement an NCAA Tournament bid, the Buckeyes (18-10, 8-9 Big Ten) are in seventh place in the conference and face first-place and No. 14 Purdue on Saturday.
