Baseball: Buckeyes split 4-game series at Bethune-Cookman

The Ohio State baseball team split a four-game series at Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla.The final game of the series was played Monday afternoon, and Bethune-Cookman (5-6) emerged with an 8-3 victory over the Buckeyes (7-5). The last two weeks have been disappointing for Ohio State, a team that started the season 4-0, but are just 3-5 since. Furthermore, the Buckeyes are not exactly playing a tough non-conference schedule. Despite only scoring three runs on Monday, the Buckeyes out-hit Bethune-Cookman 11-7. Collecting two hits apiece for Ohio State were junior shortstop Noah West, fourth-year junior second baseman Matt Carpenter, third-year sophomore catcher Brent Todys and true freshman third baseman Marcus Ernst.
