Coming off a 4-1 win against Wisconsin on Feb. 9, the team’s seventh in a row, the Buckeyes were among the top teams in college hockey, ranking No. 2 in the USCHO.com poll two days later with six first-place votes. Ohio State looked like a team ready to compete for its first national title.
