Former Ohio State QB Tate Martell eligible to play at Miami in 2019

Tate Martell will be playing football in 2019. The former Ohio State quarterback has been granted a waiver and will be eligible to play at Miami in 2019, the Hurricanes announced Tuesday. “We are pleased with this ruling and appreciate the NCAA recognizing that this waiver met the criteria under the membership established guidelines,” director of athletics Blake James said in a statement. “We would like to thank the NCAA, as well as Ohio State University, for their assistance and support throughout the waiver process. We look forward to seeing Tate compete for the Hurricanes this season.” Martell transferred from Ohio State to Miami after it was announced Justin Fields would become a Buckeye after leaving Georgia.
