Gunnar Hoak transferring to Ohio State from Kentucky

Ohio State is adding a new quarterback to its roster. Gunnar Hoak is moving on from Kentucky to the Buckeyes as a graduate transfer, he announced on Twitter Saturday. “Ever since I was born at OSU hospital, some aspect of my life has always involved scarlet and gray,” Hoak wrote, in part. “And while I have gained so much experience during my time in Lexington, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue a family legacy.” Hoak’s father (Frank Hoak), uncle (Fred Pagac) and cousin (Fred Pagac Jr.) all played at Ohio State. However, the younger Hoak was never offered a scholarship to play for the Buckeyes. Hoak redshirted his freshman year, didn’t play in 2017 and only appeared in five games in 2018.
