Michigan football is in South Africa, Brutus Buckeye mocks Wolverines for missing out on Indianapolis

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michigan football on Thursday left on what has become its annual international trip, this time heading to South Africa. Jim Harbaugh took his team to Italy in 2017 and France last year. While the first trip included some football practice, last year’s trip and this one is just a sightseeing and educational opportunity. The trips are funded by Michigan donors, and serves as a bonding tool for current players and a recruiting tool for future players. The Wolverines will spend a week in South Africa, primarily in Cape Town with a side trip to Johannesburg The travel plan is permitted under NCAA rules, and once hatched by Harbaugh, it was assumed other teams might follow suit.
