Baseball: Canzone HR lifts Ohio State over Wright State

Junior right fielder Dominic Canzone smashed a two-run, go-ahead home run in the bottom of the 8th inning, lifting Ohio State’s baseball team to a 6-5 win over visiting Wright State on Wednesday. The Buckeyes moved to 25-23 on the season, while the Raiders fell to 34-15. Canzone went 2-for-4 with a walk on the evening, and leads the Big Ten with 71 hits on the season. He also is batting a robust .362 with 13 home runs, and will likely be selected somewhat early in the MLB Draft in June. Junior reliever Andrew Magno recorded his eighth save of the season for OSU with a scoreless ninth. It was a quality win for Ohio State, as Wright State entered play with an RPI of 80 (OSU had an RPI of 158).
