BEREA, Ohio — Former Michigan State running back L.J. Scott,, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, once rolled up 236 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Buckeyes. Now, he’ll have a chance to help an Ohio team instead of hurt it. The Browns signed Scott (6-0, 227) on Monday. To make room, they waived running Devante Mays, who spent 10 weeks on the Browns’ practice squad last season. In a 17-16 loss to the Buckeyes in 2016, Scott rushed 19 times for 160 yards and caught two passes for 76 yards, including a 64-yard TD pass to open the game.
