COLUMBUS, Ohio — As an Ohio native, Kalen Etzler of Crestview (Ohio) High School remembers what the Buckeyes looked like less than 10 years ago, when some of its best players came from within the state. He remembers Ohio State’s 2010 recruiting class, which ranked third in the country with four Ohio players, three of which were considered among the top 100 recruits. Now with two years left until he sets foot on campus, Etzler is prepared to revive the excitement for Ohio players to stay home. Ohio currently has three players ranked in the 247Sports’ Top 75 for 2021. When Ohio State offered Etzler, he committed on the spot and now plans to try to convince the two others to join him in Columbus.
