COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State 2021 football commit Kyle McCord of St. Joseph’s Prep (Penn.) High School announced on Twitter that he’s received an invite to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge. The event will showcase the country’s top 100 high school football players. The fact that McCord — who will be a junior in the fall — received an invite is a major accomplishment given that the event is usually reserved for soon-to-be-seniors. Typically only 5-10 of the players invited are non-seniors. The four-star quarterback is coming off of a record-setting sophomore season, throwing for 2,883 yards and 38 touchdowns while completing 67% of his passes. McCord is rated as the No. 113 overall player in the 2021 class and the No. 8 pro-style quarterback.
