In case you missed it, Dwayne Haskins was named Ohio State’s Male Athlete of the Year earlier this month. National champion Sade Olatoye (indoor track and field) brought home OSU’s Women’s Athlete of the Year award. Haskins, who was a third-year sophomore quarterback for the Buckeyes in 2018, shattered school and Big Ten records with 4,831 passing yards and 50 touchdowns. He also completed 70 percent of his passes and threw just eight interceptions. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Haskins was named the Big Ten’s Offensive MVP (and QB of the year) and was also the MVP of Ohio State’s win over Washington in the Rose Bowl. Haskins was the No. 15 overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, making him the first Big Ten quarterback selected in the first round since Penn State’s Kerry Collins in 1995 (Carolina Panthers).
