COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s Backyard Bash and Barbecue seems to have paid off in a major way as Lathan Ransom of Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) High School becomes the eighth 2020 recruit who attended to commit. Ransom took to Twitter to make his announcement. The four-star prospect — who’s rated as the No. 76 overall player and the No. 4 safety in the class — chose the Buckeyes over LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas. He took official visits to all five schools with Ohio State getting the final say. Ransom joins Lejond Cavazos of IMG Academy (Fla.) as the second safety in the class and is the second player from Arizona to be added to the class.
