Jack Nicklaus loves his Buckeyes, but heart’s in designing West Michigan course


GRAND HAVEN, MI – After spending an afternoon laying out his vision for American Dunes Golf Club, Jack Nicklaus had nothing but praise for the developing course and West Michigan area. Of course, the legendary golfer and course designer, who is an Ohio State University alumnus, did manage to poke a little fun at the rival Michigan Wolverines. “Can you believe me saying something nice about Michigan?” The Golden Bear joked. When asked if he thought Michigan could beat OSU in football this year, Nicklaus said “no” in a playfully dismissive tone.
