COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football coach Ryan Day is enthused about the production the Buckeyes are getting from ‘X’ receiver Binjimen Victor in his senior season. Coming up behind Victor is true freshman Garrett Wilson — a top-15 national recruit regardless of position. Wilson has not been targeted much yet and has one reception, compared to Victor’s team-high 134 yards on seven receptions. Yet that one catch hinted at the 6-0, 188-pound freshman’s potential. Justin Fields targeted Wilson for a receiver screen in the opener against Florida Atlantic. But the ball sailed a bit on Fields, glanced off Wilson’s hands and fell to the turf. Since it was a backwards pass, the incompletion was actually a live fumble, which the Owls recovered.
