
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football cornerback Damon Arnette did not pass up the NFL Draft and return to the Buckeyes to settle for low expectations. “I’m just excited, because I think we’re going to win the ‘natty,’ ” Arnette said Tuesday, referring of course to the College Football Playoff national championship. “I’m just speaking it into existence.” Other coaches and players spoke Tuesday about staying focused on improvement despite outscoring their first three opponents 138-31. Arnette’s answer, however, should not be seen as a contradiction of that mindset. It can even be exactly what this program needs — if he and other Buckeyes process that confidence correctly.
