Ohio State football’s Chase Young and Justin Fields both Heisman Trophy finalists headed to New York


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football built its 13-0 record thus far with one of the nation’s most ferocious defenses and one of its most explosive offenses. Both will be represented at the Heisman Trophy announcement ceremony in New York City on Saturday — as will a third player who once wore a Buckeyes jersey. Junior defensive end Chase Young and sophomore quarterback Justin Fields are both among the four finalists for the award, given to the nation’s best player. LSU quarterback and former Ohio State player Joe Burrow is widely considered the favorite to win the award, which will be announced at 8 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts is the fourth finalist. Ohio State became only the fifth school with multiple Heisman finalists in the same year since finalists were first invited in 1982.
