COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Ryan Day has already won the Big Ten award Coach of the Year and could add the national award as well. The first-year head coach — who was the first OSU coach to win the conference’s award in 40 yards — was named as one of the six finalist for the George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award. He is joined by LSU’s Ed Orgeron, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley, Baylor’s Matt Rhule and Minnesota’s P.J. Fleck. Should Day win the award, he’d be the first Ohio State coach to do so in its 30-year history and the fifth coach from the Big Ten.
