How Ohio State football player Josh Proctor’s hit to end the Big Ten Championship showed a preview of 2020


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football team had already secured a win over Wisconsin to clinch its third straight Big Ten Championship on Saturday night. The defense’s only goal was to keep the Badgers out of the end zone to keep them at 21 points. But Wisconsin was putting together a quality drive that landed it at Ohio State’s 10-yard line following a 24-yard pass from Jack Coan to Jake Ferguson after the ball was bobbled around in the air by a multitude of players on both sides. Coan had already reached the end zone once earlier that night and looked to do so again to close out the game.
