
COLUMBUS, Ohio — One year ago, Ryan Day was participating in his first final Signing Day press conference as Ohio State football’s head coach. His first recruiting class and Urban Meyer’s final one would sit at No. 14 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten. That would be the only time in Meyer’s seven-year tenure he didn’t have the conference’s best class and a top-10 ranked class nationally. At the top of that 2019 class was Zach Harrison, a five-star home-grown defensive end product out of Olentangy Orange High School. Harrison’s recruitment was unique in the fact that very few knew much about it as he and his family were private on everything from the decision-making process to the actual commitment itself.
