Jackson Carman chose Clemson over Ohio State in 2018, now he’ll face the Buckeyes in College Football Playoff


SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Ohio State is the only Power 5 school in the state of Ohio and most athletes grow up dreaming of playing for the Buckeyes one day. Yet there are those who’d rather take the opportunity to get away. Offensive tackle Jackson Carman took that route in 2018 when he chose Clemson over the Buckeyes after a brilliant career at Fairfield (Ohio) High School. The starting left tackle has had a role in 28 straight wins, a national championship and back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff. “It was a tough decision for him to make but part of him wanted to get away,” Carman’s high school coach Jason Krause told cleveland.com. “That’s just the personality that he is.
