
COLUMBUS, Ohio — ESPN’s list of the 150 greatest college football players ever included six Ohio State alums as of Thursday afternoon. Expect that number to grow when the network releases the top 25 players at halftime of Monday’s College Football Playoff national championship game between LSU and Clemson. Running back Eddie George (38), safety/linebacker Jack Tatum (44), running Howard “Hopalong” Cassady (47), offensive tackle Orlando Pace (No. 51), guard Jim Parker (141) and linebacker Chris Spielman (143) are the former Buckeyes announced so far. Conspicuous in his absence is two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, who presumably will be among those announced on Monday. The list was compiled by 150 former players and coaches, media and administrators.
