COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coaches came back off the road over the weekend having regained the lead in the Class of 2021 recruiting rankings. Clemson had recently pulled ahead of the Buckeyes thanks to a commitment surge in the wake of its Junior Day. The commitment Mike Hall gave Ohio State on Saturday, however, pushed the Buckeyes back on top of the 247 Sports national composite. Teams now enter an NCAA-mandated “dead period” which runs through the end of February. Clemson maintains a slight edge in average player rating, 95.53 to 95.0. Notre Dame, Florida and Texas round out the overall score top five. Wisconsin, at No. 6, is the next highest-ranked Big Ten team. Those rankings are far from complete.
