COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State basketball player D’Angelo Russell’s time with the Golden State Warriors has been cut short as he has been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Russell was averaging career-highs in points (23.6) and 3-point percentage (37.4) in 33 games for the 12-40 Warriors this season. However they have been playing short-handed with Stephen Curry sidelined with a broken right hand and Klay Thompson out for possibly the season after tearing his left ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. The fifth-year player was brought to Golden State following an All-Star year with the Brooklyn Nets as part of a sign-and-trade that involved Kevin Durant.
