COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball team came into Sunday still in need of a quality win over a Big Ten opponent, and it found one in a 79-72 win over No. 7 Maryland at Value City Arena. It’s the fourth time this season that the Buckeyes have knocked off a team ranked in the top 10 when they played them. The others were Kentucky, North Carolina and Villanova. OSU is 4-3 against Top 25 opponents. The Buckeyes continued to play at a high-level in home games, taking a 40-33 lead into halftime led a balanced scoring attack. The Buckeyes knocked down eight threes in the first half as five players scored at least six points led by Luther Muhammad’s nine points.
