INDIANAPOLIS — Chase Young pounced on the question like the Ohio State football edge rusher pounced on so many quarterbacks over the past three seasons. The Bednarik and Naurski Trophy winner as the nation’s best defensive player opened his 2019 season with 16.5 sacks over his first 10 games. That total stood up at year’s end as the national leader. Yet over his final three games, Young recorded no sacks and only one tackle for loss. Those three games were the biggest on the Buckeyes’ schedule — at rival Michigan to close out an undefeated regular season, against Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game and against Clemson at the Fiesta Bowl in the College Football Playoff.
