
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Before they were Ohio State football spring roommates, Jacolbe Cowan and Darrion Henry-Young first crossed paths on the AAU basketball circuit. Henry-Young came out of the Cincinnati area and played for LeBron James’ AAU program. Cowan came out of North Carolina and played on the same AAU team as Michigan defensive end Chris Hinton. Back then Cowan and Henry-Young were middle schoolers still seeking the best fit for their mix of size and athleticism. They eventually settled on the same sport. Time will tell if they settle on the same position. Henry-Young and Cowan were both four-star prospects as defensive tackles, ranked No. 153 and 162, respectively in the 247 Sports national composite. However, both early enrollees have opened their Buckeye careers as defensive ends.
