But in 2006, there was even more at stake in the annual matchup. The top-ranked Buckeyes and No. 2-ranked Wolverines both entered the game in Columbus undefeated, with a Big Ten championship and a spot in the national championship on the line. Tabbed as the “Game of the Century,” OSU prevailed 42-39 in an offensive shootout.
