Ohio State football’s Ryan Day on Chase Young, Jeff Okudah going 2-3 in NFL Draft 2020: ‘This is the dream’


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day might have been stuck at home like the rest of us, but his program was in a national spotlight Thursday night. Former Buckeye defensive end Chase Young was the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by Washington. The Detroit Lions selected cornerback Jeff Okudah with the next pick. Speaking to ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter early Friday morning, Day recounted a process that begins in conversations with high school players and culminates on draft night. Ohio State became the first program to have two pairs of teammates selected in the top five of three drafts. “A lot of pride,” Day said. “There’s so much that goes into a night like this.
