Redskins draft Buckeyes DE Chase Young with No. 2 pick


8:33 PM ET The Washington Redskins received what they wanted most with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft: a potential high-impact player. The Redskins selected Ohio State defensive end Chase Young, ending months of speculation by doing what many predicted they would long ago. While some teams had called the Redskins in recent days about a trade, Washington was long intent on keeping the pick barring a massive haul. The Redskins viewed Young as a player who could impact all three levels of their defense and make game-changing plays. That’s what Young did during his three seasons at Ohio State. Last season, he finished with 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for a loss in 12 games as the Buckeyes advanced to the College Football Playoff.
