The Detroit Lions waited until their final two picks of the 2020 NFL draft to select interior defensive linemen, a pressing need for the team. With their final pick, No. 235 overall in the seventh round, they took Ohio State defensive lineman Jashon Cornell, a Big Ten honorable mention player who registered four sacks last season. The pick was acquired in March along with Duron Harmon from New England in exchange for a fifth-rounder. The Lions drafted Utah defensive tackle John Penisini in the sixth round.
