
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The moment college sports took a major step toward players making money off endorsements, Ohio State pounced. No college team may benefit more from the new proposed rule allowing college athletes to make some coin by appearing in commercials, signing autographs and promoting products or themselves on social media, and the Buckeyes are vitally aware of that. Ohio State football is a monster program in a major city at a university with a huge alumni base. Ohio State recruiting director Mark Pantoni made note of that on his Twitter account Wednesday hours after the NCAA proposed allowing players to make outside endorsement money.
