Ohio State football players sign coronavrius ‘pledge’ before workouts


Before returning last week to begin voluntary workouts, Ohio State football players and their parents were asked to sign what amounts to a waiver, acknowledging the risks of the coronavirus and agreeing to some precautionary protocols. The “Buckeye Pledge,” as obtained by the Columbus Dispatch, is a two-page electronic document, which states players will “help stop the spread of the COVID-19” and accept “I may be exposed to COVID-19 and other infections.” Ohio State players were welcomed back to campus June 8. The university told ESPN that all players have signed the waiver, and all have been tested for COVID-19. Those results will not be shared publicly.
