Ohio State announces home-and-home series with Alabama

Athletic director Gene Smith teased that it might happen, but now it’s official. Ohio State and Alabama will meet on the football field once again. The two programs scheduled a home-and-home series for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The Crimson Tide will make the program’s first ever trip to Ohio Stadium on Sept. 18, 2027. The Buckeyes will then travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the return game on Sept. 9, 2028. Ohio State and Alabama have met just four times in the history of the two storied programs with the Crimson Tide owning a 3-1 record over the Buckeyes. The first meeting took place in the 1978 Sugar Bowl when Bear Bryant’s Alabama defeated Woody Hayes’ Ohio State 35-6 in New Orleans.
