The Ohio Department of Health reported 531 new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, in the previous 24 hours, and 30 deaths. Both figures are higher than the 21-day averages of 439 newly reported cases and 26 newly reported deaths. While testing has improved dramatically since the start of the outbreak in Ohio, medical experts say it still falls short of where it needs to be, meaning that those figures are almost certainly an undercount. As of Saturday, the health department has attributed 2,697 deaths to the coronavirus, and 44,262 cases. Thirty-four people were hospitalized due to the coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, the health department reported Saturday, and 13 people were admitted to the intensive care unit.
