Jamier Johnson, Ohio State football 2021 target, commits to Texas : Buckeye Recruiting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — California defensive back and Ohio State football target Jamier Johnson of John Muir High School has committed to Texas. Rated as the No. 236 overall player and No. 17 cornerback in the 2021 recruiting class, the four-star recruit is the 14th member of the Longhorns class, which ranks 10th in the country and first in the Big 12. Texas was one of seven schools Johnson chose from. That list included the Buckeyes, Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon and USC. Losing out on Johnson along with the nation’s top cornerback in Tony Grimes means that Ohio State’s search to add another defensive back in the class continues after Alabama managed to flip Ohio native Devonta Smith.
