Ohio State to use group effort to replace Chase Young at D-end

Juniors Tyreke Smith and Tyler Friday, as well as redshirt sophomore Javontae Jean-Baptiste will all contend to be a part of Johnson’s rotation at defensive end. Smith, like Cooper, battled injuries that limited his production last season. The former four-star prospect missed three games and was hampered in others, but still recorded 12 total tackles, five tackles for a loss and three sacks as a sophomore.
