The top safety in the state could be headed to Penn State. The news comes after Gateway rising senior Derrick Davis announced his top seven Sunday afternoon. But the Nittany Lions have some elite company on the list as Southern Cal, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia and Pitt also made the cut. The 6-foot, 175-pound Davis is a two-way standout for the Gators – doubling as an explosive running back. But, he appears special in the secondary, and is PennLive’s seventh-ranked player in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2021. 247Sports rates him as a four-star prospect and the fourth-best player in the state.
