Ohio State ‘likely’ to limit football capacity to 20%, prohibit tailgating in 2020


Ohio State notified its football season ticket-holders on Tuesday that seating at Ohio Stadium this fall would “likely” be limited to 20 percent capacity, in keeping with COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic social distancing guidelines. Ohio Stadium has an official capacity of 104,944, meaning 2020 home games would include no more than 21,000 or so fans. In addition, the school will also prohibit pre-game tailgating and the marching band’s popular “skull session” pep rally, and require fans to wear face coverings in the stadium. Season-ticket holders will be given the option of “opting out” for 2020, but retaining season-ticket eligibility for 2021 and beyond.
