
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The last time the Ohio State football program landed a top defensive lineman recruit from North Carolina was for its 2020 class. Incoming freshman Jacolbe Cowan, who was the No. 17 defensive tackle on 247Sports, played at Providence Day School in Charlotte. Cowan was a four-star recruit, but now Ohio State has its eyes on a more highly touted defensive tackle: 2022 five-star recruit Travis Shaw. Shaw, who plays at Grimsley in Greensboro, has 27 offers and is the No. 13 overall prospect according to 247Sports. His coach Darryl Brown told cleveland.com he has been in contact with schools like UNC, N.C. State and Clemson. He recently received an offer from Oregon.
