College football opt-outs give a taste of a world that could be a huge change for Ohio State fans


COLUMBUS, Ohio — College football players are at risk of testing positive for COVID-19 and having negative health issues. That’s a fact of this college football season. The result is that about 30 players have opted-out of the season so far, including 12 of them in the Big Ten. These are serious issues with serious consequences. But that’s also true of every football season. Players risk head trauma — concussions now, and possibly, CTE in the future. They can break bones or tear ligaments. Risk, at some level, is part of every snap. So might players in the future consider opting-out of that?
