
Looks like the great Big Ten coup of 2020 isn’t going to happen. There was much saber-rattling from coaches at Ohio State and Nebraska that those schools might try to play outside their conference, which on Tuesday postponed football and other fall sports to the spring amid the coronavirus pandemic. Both the Buckeyes’ Ryan Day and the Cornhuskers’ Scott Frost hinted that they were pursuing non-Big Ten options to play this fall. “We’re a proud member of the Big Ten,” Frost said during a Zoom teleconference on Tuesday. “We want to play a Big Ten schedule. I think the only reason we would look at any other options is if for some reason the Big Ten wasn’t playing and only a handful of teams from the Big Ten wanted to continue playing.
