
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-star defensive end Jack Sawyer of Pickerington North High School in Ohio is the latest member of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class to opt out of his senior season. Ohio will find out on Tuesday if there will be a fall season, but the high school career of Sawyer — rated as the nation’s No. 3 player — is over either way. He is one of six Ohio players committed to the Buckeyes. As the first person to commit to the Buckeyes and their highest-rated commit, Sawyer spent much of his junior season as a quarterback while being a part-time defensive end on third-down situations and in the fourth quarter.
