
COLUMBUS, Ohio ? For at least one night, Kirk Herbstreit and Chis Fowler are taking their ESPN College GameDay talents to the NFL’s Monday Night Football. Herbstreit, the former Ohio State quarterback, and Fowler will work the Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants game as part of ESPN’s season-opening doubleheader on Sept. 14. Herbstreit and Fowler were reportedly in the running to take over the MNF gig full-time. However, ESPN announced Monday that Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Louis Riddick will be the network’s new MNF commentator team. Lisa Salters and John Parry will also work with the team. Herbstreit was a four-year letterman for the Buckeyes and was voted Team MVP in 1992. He and Fowler began calling ESPN’s showcase college football games together in 2015.
