
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tuesday marked one week since the Big Ten canceled football for the fall of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Sure seems like longer than that. Perhaps that is because some individual or group — and Ohio State interests have been at the center of them — has asked for a response from the league on a daily basis. They continue to wait for that response. For the Buckeyes, the decision did not sit any easier Tuesday when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine gave the all-clear for contact sports to continue this fall. The decisions are not 100 percent comparable, as one involved a single state and the other a broad coalition of universities. That does not make it any easier to explain to an in-state Ohio State player why his old team can play on Friday night but his new one cannot on Saturday afternoon. Looking around…
