COLUMBUS, Ohio — Feb. 6, 2019 was the first time Justin Fields ever spoke publicly as a member of the Ohio State football team. The Georgia transfer sat at a table surrounded by reporters as the 2019 recruiting class sat at other tables discussing their bright futures as Buckeyes. He hadn’t yet been officially named the starting quarterback — though it was a given — and there still wasn’t a decision on whether he’d be granted immediate eligibility.
